Australia Post – embedding environmental sustainability across the business to help our people, customers and community build a better environment
Australia Post, VIC

At Australia Post we recognise that we have a unique opportunity as one of the most highly valued and trusted services in Australian people’s lives, with one of the most significant number of touch points across the country – to not only reduce our impact, but to help our people, customers and community build a better environment.

This includes our operational decisions and initiatives, contributing better efficiencies and productivity outcomes, as well as delivering real value for the community and the environment through products and services that help solve environmental challenges, as well as driving revenue for Australia Post.

Every day we reach more Australians than any other business in the country –

– 11.4 million delivery points,

– We help over 1 million Australians across our retail network.

– 4,406 Post Offices,

– 15,591 street post boxes

– 200 parcel lockers

– 35,000+ workforce located in 3,832 communities across Australia

We are never far away – making it easier for our customers and the community to and engage in environmental practices such as recycling of difficult materials including printer cartridges, cigarette butts and mobile phones.

Our Environmental Sustainability Framework (ESF), endorsed by the executive leadership team in October 2013, demonstrates our understanding that our actions are important to our customers and community, as well as to our business outcomes, and facilitated the enterprise-wide transition from a strong foundation of carbon management to a value-driven perspective.
