2014 EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY
The Liveability Real Estate Framework – Training and Tools for the Next Generation of Real Estate – LJ Hooker Corporate, NSW
The Liveability Real Estate Framework was developed in collaboration with the sustainable design, construction and assessment industries in order to address a significant shortfall of training and knowledge in the marketing, selling and renting of environmentally sustainable homes within the residential real estate industry.
The Liveability Real Estate Framework aims at long-term sustainability benefits as consumers are empowered to invest in sustainability features in new and existing properties knowing that these will now be recognised at the point of sale or lease. It empowers the property marketing industry to move confidently from being a barrier to a catalyst in supporting the sustainable property market.
The framework address the four aspects of the real estate property marketing industry:
1. the real estate agent,
2. who brings the people (renter, owner, investor)
3. and the property together (new and existing homes),
4. through effective online/print marketing.
It includes comprehensive training for real estate agents which encompasses: how to identify 17 Liveability Property Features™ which offer the potential for reduced running costs, and increased comfort if used correctly by the occupant; why these features are important to Liveability potential; and how to effectively sell and rent homes. They are given access to a new appraisal checklist, exclusive property marketing icons and resources for vendors, buyers and renters.
