Executive general manager – Peopleworks
Carole Cooper is the executive general manager of the Flight Centre Travel Group’s Peopleworks area, which oversees the company’s human resources, staff development, recruitment and training functions.
Based in the company’s global headquarters in Brisbane, she has extensive senior leadership experience within the company, both in Australia and in Canada.
Carole joined Flight Centre as a retail travel agent in Vancouver and in her first year was the country’s second top novice consultant. In 1999, she was promoted to team leader and led her shop to profit in just her third month.
A year later, she moved to the Peopleworks division as a recruiter and was instrumental in implementing both the Launchpad program and Leadership Centre in Western Canada.
Carole then became a highly successful area leader, before becoming nation leader for Canada retail and Peopleworks.
As national leader for Canada, Carole oversaw all aspects of the company’s retail operations while strategically driving business growth and development to further grow profits in this region.
Her next career move was to Australia in 2010, when she was appointed executive general manager of the company’s Queensland business.
Two years later, she took on her current position as Global Peopleworks Leader for the group.
