Producer/Impact Producer, BLUE the Film

Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in film and television production. She has delivered content to commercial clients, broadcasters and for feature release as a production manager and producer across a number of disciplines including; documentary, visual effects, feature films, television commercials and long-form children’s cartoon series. This has given her an extensive understanding of the broader industry.  Early projects included; The Matrix “Re-loaded and Revolution, James Cameron’s Deep-Sea Challenge, George Miller’s Happy Feet, the award-winning Australians at War and producing animation content for Turner Broadcasting Cartoon Network.

In 2012 Sarah joined Northern Pictures and focused her work on delivering natural history series to international networks. As an ocean conservation advocate, marine themed stories have always been Sarah’s passion. She has worked on programs such as The Adventures of the Quest series, Island Life, Great White Matrix and Saltwater Heroes.

Since 2015, Sarah has been working as a co- Producer and now Impact Producer for the award-winning ocean conservation documentary Blue. Blue has been called one of the most significant environmental films of our time.  Aligning with BLUE’s theatrical release in October 17 and extensive international festival tour, Sarah and the Blue team developed and implemented a 3-year multi-faceted impact campaign which included the strategic development of theory of change model to maximise impact goals and outcomes.  She is currently working with over 65 partners from the not-for-profit, education, government, philanthropic and private sectors in Australia, the Pacific Region, Europe and Nth America. The Blue education curricula has been used by over half a million Australian school kids and the film and its outreach won the Banksia Foundation sustainability media award for its contribution to the UN sustainability goals.

In addition to her film work, Sarah has worked in a volunteer capacity with the not-for-profit, Take 3 for The Sea, a marine debris initiative raising awareness about the impacts of plastic pollution and running beach clean ups.  Sarah served on the board for 3 years.Sarah has appeared on numerous panels advocating for ocean protection and sustainability.
