Entry Process

  • Browse the award categories and determine which categories best reflect your achievements and project.

  • Read about previous entrants in our NSW Sustainability Success Stories publication, featuring the winners and finalists from 2023.
  • Decide if you’re submitting a single initiative or a whole-of-business approach. This will determine whether you submit into one of the impact driven categories or SME/Large Business.

  • Contact Banksia for additional assistance in deciding which category is best for you.

  • Download the Entry Kit of the category you’re interested in. You may choose to download multiple Entry Kits if you are still deciding between categories.

  • Take the time to read through the entire Entry Kit thoroughly, as it contains essential information about the category criteria, submission requirements, and judging process.

  • Reflect on whether the metrics you’ve gathered are applicable within the context of the category you’re interested in.

  • Create your account on our Entry Portal hosted by Informed365.

  • Once you have registered your user account and organisation, start a form for the NSW Sustainability Awards

  • Email [email protected] if your user account needs to be linked to an established organisation profile. If you have previous entered, you can use the same account.

  • Only entries that are submitted through the Entry Portal will be considered.

  • Gather all relevant measurements, impacts, and information related to your sustainability initiative.

  • Write your entry in accordance to the Submission Document structure as outlined in the Entry Kit.
  • Watch the Information Session to gain valuable insights and tips from the judges.

  • Pay special attention to writing your 500 word case study, to be used in Australia’s Sustainability Success Stories if you are the selected finalist/winner.

  • Once you’ve uploaded your Submission Document and PR Material to your Entry Form, select your business size in the ‘Payment’ question.

  • Follow the prompts and pay your submission fee through Stripe.

  • Payment can only be completed once all questions in the Entry Form are answered. Your form must be at 100% to proceed to payment

  • Once you have paid, click ‘Close’ to fully submit your Entry Form. If you need to go back and make adjustments to your entry, email Banksia to reopen your form.

  • PDF File uploaded to entry portal
  • 2,000 words +/- 10%
  • Enhance your document with visual aids such as photos, graphics, and tables.
  • Format your responses according to the structure outlined in the Entry Kit. Headings are strongly recommended.

To enter the awards, you must provide also the following content for PR Purposes:
